English Version:
Yes, I yet can remember exactly in my reaction, when I listened first time to the songs of this CD, I was total bored and nerved. I have expected a power-hardrock-album in style of „1987“, how probably the most. But it’s not so, Coverdale and his colleague Adrian Vandenberg have hatched out a quiet bluesy album, which you should given time to unfold itself. I have put my tape very fast to the side in this time and didn’t busy me much more with „Restless Heart“. Till I have got the CD and listened more intensive to the thing. I think, that the cool rocky titletrack is soonest fit to find the access to the album, the song becomes a catchy tune. Sure, the relaxed quiet „Don’t fade away“ in the beginning is stupid placed, but the song creates hit-character. The power-blues „Woman trouble blues“ against the end of the CD reminds soonest like „Slide it in“ to Whitesnake-times. Contemporares, that tend to nice, quiet songs and like Coverdale’s voice come full on their costs at „Restless Heart“, sit down with „Precious Love“ or the of a great David dragging „Too many Tears“ with Adrian Vandenberg in blues feeling. Great, just great, that album is so what, which you call a „Grower“, it grows with every run through. And always becomes stronger and stronger. I only can touch me on the head, that I have ignored this album with disregard for years. Against the end, David C. yet presses a little bit more on the tube and unpackes more a bunch of rockers too and screams hisself the soul out of the body once again. (Translation by Dominic)
