Von Wow - Rei Atsumi

Dieses Album ist mir aus Zufall, durch das Video von Vow Wow „Rock Me Now“ in die Hände gefallen, dass ich in Amerika gekauft habe. Vow Wow kommen aus Japan und bestehen auch hauptsächlich aus Japanern, einzige Ausnahme ist der Bassist Neil Murray, der in den Bands Whitesnake, Gary Moore oder auch in Black Sabbath gespielt hat. Ihr Album „Helter Skelter“ wurde 1989 über Arista Records herausgebracht. Was man von einem Neil Murray erwarten kann, wenn er schon mit so Größen zusammengearbeitet hat, ist ja wohl klare Sache! Sie spielen einen echt feinen kommerziellen Hardrock im Stile der 80iger mit einer guten Portion Energie und mit gewissen Einflüssen, der genannten Bands. Das sich die Japaner im Heavy Metal Bereich recht ordentlich geben, sah man an Bands wie Loudness oder Anthem schon. Mit „I Feel The Power“, „Rock Me Now“ oder auch mit „Night By Night“ könnten gleich angesetzt neben Songs auf den Debut Alben von Treat oder Autograph. Nebenbei machen sie auch eine coole Beatles Cover Version des Songs „Helter Skelter“. Jeder Song hat so seine Eigenheiten und machen eigentlich jeden Song zu einem Hammer. Wirklich zu bewundern ist die Stimme von Genki Hitomi, die einfach recht rauh und himmlisch wirkt. Die Keyboardklänge lassen die Songs nie langweilig oder gar blöd klingen. Recht saubere Leistung!

I find this album just through a chance by the video of Vow Wow „Rock Me Now“ what i have bought in america. Vow Wow comes from Japan and consists also mainly from Japanese, only exception is the bass player Neil Murray who has played into the bands Whitesnake, Gary Moore or also in Black Sabbath. Their album „Helter Skelter“ was released from Arista Records in 1989. What you can expect from a Neil Murray if he already have played which such big bands is well a clear thing! They play an extremely fine commercial hardrock with a good portion of energy and certain influences for the mentioned bands in the style of the 80´s. At the same time they also make a cool Beatles Cover version of the song „Helter Skelter“.

Every song has its peculiarities and make actually every song to a hammer. The voice really has to be admired from Genki Hitomi who simply is right roughly and seems heavenly. The keyboard sounds let the songs never sound boring or really silly. Right clean performance!
