This is not what i call happymusic, what Jelly Jam are playing here. But who is Jelly Jam? It is the follow up to the “Platypus”-Projeckt from John Myung (Drema Theater) and Rod Morgenstein (Drums), together with Kings X Guitar-player Ty Tabor – he is doing the vocals here, too. The Jelly Jam is based on 60ties and 70ties music, you hear the influences of The Beatels loud and clear. From the heavy Riffs you can say Black Sabbath have made an influences here, too. And then theres the alternative note in this music that I never loved, I mean if you like Bands like Janes Addiction than you can check out Jelly Jam. For me it is to much art in this music. And then I don´t like the vocals from Ty Tabor, there are sounding so depressiv and sad. If I find one riff that fits to me, the Vocal will destroy this soon. I had my problems with the “Platypus”-Thing and it continues with Jelly Jam. Maybe some the people like the named bands that influencesa this porjekt can taste this CD. Check out “Runaway” the only qucik tune here and maybe “Drop the Gun” is an good one for an first impression. I think Jelly Jam are too much into Artmusic for me, I will stay to god ol´Rock´n Roll
