Sven Gali - Same

Sven Gali war eine Band aus Kanada und brachte ein exzellentes Debüt-Album im Hardrockstil heraus, bevor die Grunge-Zeit sie verschluckte und sie ihre Fans mit dem zweiten Album enttäuschten. Gegründet wurde das Ganze von David Wanless (Sänger), Dee Cernile (Gitarre), Andy Frank (Gitarre) und Shawn T.T. Maher (Bass) in Ontario. Hinzu kam der berühmte Schlagzeuger Gregg Gerson, der auch schon mit Billy Idol, Noisy Mama, Steven Stevens und vielen mehr zusammengearbeitet hat. Sie erhielten ziemlich schnell einen Deal unter BMG Kanada. Das gleichnamige Album war eine tolle Scheibe des 80´s Heavy Metal und war in der Lage Gold zu ergattern in Kanada mit den Liedern „Under The Influence“, „Tie Dyed Skies“ und der enormen ballade „Love Don´t Live Here Anymore“. Dass sie musikalisch auch oft mit der Band Skid Row verglichen werden, ist sicher kein Zufall. Schreit David Wanless in manchen Songs wie Sebastian Bach, auch die Stimmähnlichkeit trägt dazu bei. Die Songs hören sich schon ähnlich wie das „Slave To The Grind“ Album von Skid Row an, jedoch finde ich sie nicht so hart wie Skid Row. Sven Gali machen es mehr melodischer und einen eingängigen Headbang Rhythmus, der unter die Haut geht. Bestimmte Songs herauszusuchen wäre unsinnig, weil das Album von vorne bis hinten, so richtig kracht und abgeht. Unbedingt ein Auge drauf werfen!

Sven Gali was a band from Canada and released an excellent debüt-album in the Hardrock style before they get sucked into the grunge time and they disappointed their fans with the second album. It was founded from David Wanless (vocals), Dee Cernile (guitar), Andy Frank (guitar) and Shawn T.T. Mahar (bass) in Ontario. With the addition of famed drummer Gregg Gerson who had worked with Billy Idol, Noisy Mama, Steven Stevens and many more. They were quickly snatched up by BMG Canada. The self-titled debut was an excellent slab of 80's heavy metal and managed to go gold in Canada on the strength of the singles "Under The Influence", "Tie Dyed Skies" and the huge ballad "Love Don't Live Here Anymore". That they are musically often compared with the band Skid Row isn't for certain a chance. David Wanless shouts in some songs like Sebastian Bach, also contributes the voice similarity to it. The songs are similar like the „Slave To The Grind“ album from Skid Row, but i don´t think they are so hard like Skid Row. Sven Gali make it more melodic and an catchy rhythm which goes under the skin. To pick out certain songs would be very nonsensical because the whole album from the beginning till the end is right crashes and sent off. Throw an eye on it absolutely!
