Supergroupies - Same

Ein wenig älter doch nicht weniger gut ist das erste Album von den Supergroupies. Diese Tage schneite die Scheibe hier in der Redaktion rein und die Band aus Göteborg passt hervorragend zum Sommer mit ihren frischen Sound. Sehr glamig angelegt und nicht ganz so heavy, ziehen die Vier einen Smasher nach dem anderen aus dem Hut. Optisch legen die Suprgroupies gut Make-Up auf und werfen sich in Frack und Fummel. Fürs das Auge bietet die Band schon mal einiges. Der Sound ist wie erwähnt nicht ganz so heavy aber dafür locker flockig. Bands wie Hanoi Rocks, Kiss oder Hardcore Superstars fallen mir beim hören der CD ein, aber auch Cheap Trick, Sweet oder T Rex dürften ihre Spuren im Sound der Groupies hinterlassen haben.

Das Album bietet insgesamt 13 Songs mit einer guten Stunde Spielzeit, was ich sehr amtlich finde. Höhepunkte auf der CD sind sicher „Bouncin´“ - für den Song hat die Band sogar einen Clip gedreht, welcher auf der Hompage der Band zu begutachten ist www.supergroupies.com.

Das fast schon melancholische „Say Goodbye“ ist ein Titel welcher die Herzen der Girls schnell erobern dürfte. Aber sie Soupergroupies mögen es auch stramm zu rocken, höre der Interessierte dazu „Give it all you got“ oder das geile „Scream shout adore“. Etwas poppiger geht es auch zu, wenn die Band um Sänger Kim den Song „What a Day“ wie auf Zuckerwatte heraus lümmelt.

Aber ihre Rock und Metal-Wurzeln haben die Supergroupies nicht vergessen, am Ende der CD findet man eine klasse Coverversion des kultigen Madam X-Songs „Come one, Come All“. Allein dafür muss ich diese Band an die Freundschaftsbrust drücken das es kracht. Eine tolle CD, die ein wenig anders ist als man es aus Schweden gewöhnt ist, aber ohne Frage geil.

A bit older but not bad is hat CD from the band called Supergroupies. These days the CD arrives in our holy halls and the band from Göteborg is the perfect soundtrack for the Summer. With a fresh sound and a Stunnin´GlamRock-Outfit comes this band around and really rocks. The Four boys are a real eyecatcher with lot of Make-Up and their tuff and glamy lookin clothes.

The Sound they play is not so heavy as usual but bands like Kiss, Hanoi Rocks or Hardcore Superstars could be something that have had made an impact to this group here. Some records from older Glam-Giants like Sweet, Cheap Trick or T Rex we will find in the –Reocrd-collection of Kim, John, Michael and Andre for sure.

With 13 Songs an nearly one hour of pure Music we have the value for money here to offer. Highlights on these CD are without a question “Bouncin´” – The band shoot a videoclip for this one, to see on the homepage www.supergroupies.com .

With the fine and little melancholic Sounding Ballad “Say Goobye” the Band will conquer the hearts of all the girls. But the Band can also play some fine rock, listen to “Give it all you got” or the cool “Scream, Shout Adroe”. A little more into some easy poprock can be find here, too. Check the well done tune “What a day” for example.

But the Supergroupies have not betrayed their Rock and Metal-Roots. At the End of this CD you will find an excellent cover version from the Madam X –Classic “Come One, Come all”. Only for this piece of fabulous music I really love the band.

A fine fine CD from Sweden is what you get here, not so much heavy like others but great!!
