Stun Leer - Once

Hier hab ich wieder eine Silber-Scheibe für euch. Das typische Rockalbum für alle melodischen Fans. Die Band StunLeer mit den drei Hauptpersonen Doug Howard (Gesang), Paul Michael (Bass) und Michael McCabe (Gitarre) und ihrem einzigem 1998 Debüt-Album Once, ist ein wirklich starkes Stück und ist mal wieder leider recht unbekannt. Das Cover ist für meinen Geschmack etwas zu gelb, aber vielleicht war das auch so geplant, damit es einem sofort in die Augen sticht. Typische Merkmale der Musik sind die ausdrucksstarken Gitarren, klirrenden Bassklänge und dem gleichbleibenden Schlagzeug mit der tollen Stimme von Doug Howard. Über die Band an sich hab ich leider nichts herausfinden können. Sie sind typisch amerikanisch und dem Ende der 90iger Bands stilistisch im Melodikrockbereich zuzuordnen. Ich vergleiche Ihre Musik mit Harem Scarem, Journey und auch mit Giant. Doug Howards Stimme kommt bei jedem Song eigentlich sehr gut zum Ausdruck und macht das ganze Album zu einem Hammerstück. Meine Lieblingsstücke sind „Love Is a Liar“, „Go Don´t Go“ und „Eye To Eye“. Typische Stampf-Kombinations-Songs mit schreiender Gitarre und tollen Lyrics. Die wunderschönen gefühlsbetonten Songs wie „If You Want Love“, „Foolin´“, No Words Can Say“ und „Deliver“ stechen hier ein bisschen heraus. Der Rest der Songs sind im Mid-Tempo und auch nicht zu verachten. Das Geld ist hier sicherlich gut investiert.

Here i have one more good silver-disc for you. This is a typic Rockalbum for every melodic Fan. The Band called StunLeer with three key mans Doug Howard (voice), Paul Michael (bass) and Michael McCabe (guitar) and their only 1998 released debut-album Once, is a really great peace and once again very unknown. The cover is for my taste to much yellow, but maybe this was planed because it should come quickly straight into every eyes. Typical characteristic of their music is the expressiveness guitars, rattled basssound and constant drums with a great voice from Doug Howard. I didn´t find anything out about the band. They are typical american band from the end of 90´s. I compare their music with bands like Harem Scarem, Journey and also with Giant. Doug Howards voice is on every song powerful with a lot of feelings and makes the whole album to a great peace of Melodicrock. My favourite Songs are “Love Is a Liar”, “Go Don´t Go”, and “Eye To Eye”. Typic stamp-combined-Songs with screaming guitars and great Lyrics. The beautiful emotional songs like “If You Want Love”, “Foolin´”, “No Words Can Say” and “Deliver” completely jut out here. The rest of the songs are in the mid-speed and also not bad. The money is for sure good invested.
