In August 1984, Jan Åkesson and Peter Grundström got to know each other after a mutual concert. Jan played guitar in a band called Ravage and Peter was the singer in Whitelight. After Jan had left Ravage, he became an member of Whitelight in Fall of the same year whose influences were Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and Bad Company, but later also bands like Whitesnake, Van Halen, Journey, Toto, Riot, Wrabit and Dokken. The band played many gigs and recorded demos in the hope of getting a record deal. During the years, Jan left Whitelight again and formed Why Not, Perfect Stranger and Dr Blue. In 1994 Jan Åkesson stepped down from the stages but kept on writing songs and recorded them in his newly build Cubase Studios. After the breaking up of the follow-up band to Whitelight, Kee Avenue in 1991, Peter Grundström mainly played with cover bands but kept writing material through the years. In 1999, Jan called Peter on the phone. He thought that it was time for a „reunion“. After a good meal, a few beers and some whiskey the interest grew to once more form a new band. The result of this was and still ist Stonelake. Their album „World Entry“ was recorded in Summer and Fall 2006 in Jans „Unlimited Music Production“ studio, except ot the drums which were nailed down in Roastinghouses Studios in Malmö, Sweden where the album also engineered and mastered by Pontus Lindmark, Anders „Theo“ Theander and Jan Åkesson. The product is impressive. The album is like a ticking bomb and you get something offered. Nice melodic rhythm and vocal lines, strong powerful guitarriffs with a fad sound and great lyrics. The production is very well done and it´s very fun to listen it again and again. Even the keyboardsound behind the songs sounds not boring. It´s equal if you want aggressiv tones as „Deal with the Devil“, „Body Talk“ or „Magic Signs“, softer ones as „Words are not Enough“ and „One Love one Heart“ or even leisures as „City of Illusion“, „Rest my Eyes on You“, „Before I Go“ and „Cold Blood“, Stonelake lie fully on my length. Once again a very refreshing album comes out on the market. Very enjoying for melodicrockfans, but also for Hardrock fans. Damn Good album!!!
