Roughhouse - Same

1989 veröffentlichten “Roughhouse” ihren Erstling und auch gleich letztes Album. Die Amis waren seit 1980 unter dem Namen “Teeze” unterwegs mussten dann aber eben diesen Namen zu den Akten legen, weil die kanadischen 70er Glam Band “Tease” Klage einreichte. Ein harter Schlag für die Band, sie hatten große Mühe ihren neuen Namen auch mit einer großen Plattenfirma publik zu machen. Leider bekamen “Roughhouse” von CBS keinen Push und so verdank die Band bald darauf in der Versenkung. “Teeze”, “Roughhouse” oder wie man die Amis nennen will, kommen aus “Philadelphia und waren zusammen mit “Britney Fox, “ Cinderella” und “Tangier” die Szene Band in dieser Stadt. Sie tourten zusammen mit “Stryper”, “Kix”, “Britney Fox” und hatten wirklich alles was eine gute Sleaze Band so braucht, bis “Kurt Cobain” und sein Seattle Sauhaufen die Szene zunichte machte. So, nun will ich aber auf diese Scheibe zu sprechen kommen, die übrigens sehr rar ist und nicht wie das “Teeze” Debut wieder veröffentlicht werden darf, da die Rechte bei “CBS” liegen, diese rühren natürlich keinen Finger, wenn es nicht ums Geld geht. Die Platte umfasst 11 phantastische Sleaze Rock Songs, die Sound wie auch Songwriting Qualität hat sich im Vergleich zur “Teeze” Platte ernorm gesteigert, so ist gleich jeder Track ein echter Party Brüller. Der Opener “Don’t go Away” ist ein richtiger Ohrwurm, die Stimme von “Luis” hat sich wirklich gut entwickelt, der Junge singt wirklich göttlich. “Tonight” rockt auch höllisch ab, einfach geile Party Mucke, ich kann’s nicht anders sagen. Bei “Teeze” gab es ja keinen Balladen, das hat sich bei “Roughhouse” geändert, “Love is Pain” zergeht so richtig auf der Zunge, ein Song zum träumen. Mit “Midnight Madness” befindet sich übrigens auch noch eine Neuauflage des “Teeze” Klassikers auf der Scheibe, auch hier gefällt mir die neue Version etwas besser. “Roughhouse” haben etwas an Dreck weggenommen, dafür haben fast alle Lieder Hit Potential. Schade das es mit der großen Karriere nichts geworden ist, die Band war einfach nur geil und es freut mich wirklich sehr dass die Amis auch heute noch Sleaze Rock machen und keine Trend Kacke. Auf der Offiziellen Homepage, könnte ihr nebst Sound Samples auch noch den Clip von “Tonite” ansehen. Echte Sleazer können sich auch die “Teeze” Scheibe kaufen, T-Shit’s und eine DVD die ich natürlich in Kürze rezensieren werden. Fakt bleibt; dieses Album ist pures Dynamit!!!

Roughhouse issued their debut and soon the last album too in 1989. The Americans were on the road since 1980 under the name “Teeze” and had to lay him off, because the 70ies Canadian glam band “Tease” has handed a complain. A tough knock for the band, they had big trouble to public their new name with a big label too. Unfortunately, “Roughhouse” got no push from CBS and so the band disappeared into the sea soon. “Teeze”, “Roughhouse” or however you want call the Americans, come from “Philadelphia” and were the scene band of this city together with “Britney Fox”, “Cinderella” and “Tangier”. They toured together with “Stryper”, “Kix”, “Britney Fox” and really had everything what a good sleaze band needs, till “Kurt Cobain” and his Seattle mob erased the scene. Well, I want talk about this disk, by the way, this one is very rare and dare not re-released again like the “Teeze” debut, the rights lay at “CBS”, naturaly they don’t stir a finger, when it isn’t about the money. The disk comprises eleven fantastic sleaze rock songs, the sound like the songwriting quality too has itself increased in comparion to the “Teeze” disk, every track is a real party screamer soon. The opener “Don’t go away” is a right earwing, the voice of “Luis” hat itself created very well, the guy sings really godlike. “Tonight” rocks like hell too, just cool party sound, I can’t say anything else. At “Teeze” there were no ballads, this has changed at “Roughhouse”, “Love is Pain” melt on the tongue, a song for dreaming. By the way with “Midnight Madness” is a new version of the “Teeze” classic on the disk, here I like the new version a little bit more. “Roughhouse” have taken away some dirt, but almost all songs have hit potential. Unfortunately, nothing has gone with the big carrer, the band only was cool and it makes me glad, that the Americans do sleaze rock today too and no trend shit. On the official homeapge, you could see the clip of “Tonite” next to the sound samples. Real sleazers can buy the “Teeze” disk too, t-shirts and a DVD, which I review in a short time. Fact, this album is pure dynamite!!!
