Ransom - Same

Wer sagt, dass Frauen nicht auch singen können und Power haben. Mit Ransom und ihrem Debüt-Album von 1991 wird dies jedenfalls bewiesen. Mit Lisa Faxon haben sie eine geniale Stimme als Frontfrau. Hört sich zwar genauso an wie Saraya, aber wer spiegelt sich denn nicht ab! Sie erinnert mich auch an Lita Ford, nur ist sie etwas weicher und stimmlich sehr überzeugend. Ransoms Texte sind überlegt und basieren auf dem Christentum, also könnte man sie auch in den Christianrock einordnen. Für meinen Teil ist es eine Mischung aus Pop, Rock und ein wenig Metal. Zusammen mit Ihren Mitstreitern Tony Ortiz (Gitarre), Michael Ciado (Bass) und Randy Kantor (Schlagzeug) liefern sie ein gutes Album ab. Mit dem Opener „Lasting Love“ lässt sie es ganz schön rocken. Ebensolche Rocker sind „Rumors“, „Break Into Darkness“ und „Your Broken Heart“. Etwas gemächlichere Songs sind da „Memories“, „Fool That I Am“, „Etched In Stone“ und „When I Die“. Auch die langsamen Songs wie „Tonight“ und „I´ll Never Leave You“ dürfen nicht fehlen. Wahnsinnig gut gefällt mir die Ballade „Fallen Angel“. Schön ruhiger Anfang mit einschmeichelnder Stimme, leichten Drum-schlägen und weinerlichem Gitarrensound. Wirklich perfekt gemischt. Im Ganzen eher ruhige Songs, als echte Knüller, aber immer noch recht zu vergleichen mit Songs von Lita Ford, Cold Sweat oder auch Dokken. Himmlischer Christian Rock!

Who says that women can´t sing and have power? With Ransom and their debüt-album from 1991 is this proved at all events. With Lisa Faxon have they a great voice as frontman. Sound exectly like Saraya but who isn't mirrored, then! She reminds me also on Lita Ford just a bit weaker and vocally very convincing. Ransoms lyrics are mature and grounded in Christianity therefore you can put them in order also into the Christianrock. For my taste it is a mixture of pop, rock and a bit metal. Together wit her Comrade-in-arms Tony Ortiz (guitar), Michael Ciado (bass) und Randy Kantor (drums) deliever they a good album. With the opener „Lasting Love“ she leaves it for distaff quite nice. Exactly the same rocker are „Rumors“, „Break Into Darkness“ and „Your Broken Heart“. A little more leisurely songs are „Memories“, „Fool That I Am“, „Etched In Stone“ and „When I Die“. Even the slowlier songs as „Tonight“ and „I´ll Never Leave You“ mustn't be missing. I incredibly like a lot the ballad „Fallen Angel“.

Nice and quiet beginning with an ingratiating voice, easy drum-beats and whining guitarsound. Really perfectly mixed. In this wholes rather quiet Songs as real sensations but still compare with songs of Lita Ford, Cold Sweat or also Dokken. Heavenly Christian Rock!
