Pretty Boy Floyd - Leather Boys with Electric Toys

Hell Yeah, was für ein Album, was für ein Klassiker!!! Als „Leather Boyz“ erschienen ist gabs nicht viel Wirbel um die Band, aber "PBF" haben dank ihrem genialen Meisterwerk seit einigen Jahren absoluten Glam Kultstatus! "Steve Summers" Stimme liebt man oder man hasst sie, der Mann ist GLAM, er lebt ihn und das seit Jahren ohne Stimmeinbusse.

Der erste Track auf der Scheibe ist gleich der Titeltrack, schnell glammig und mit einem Wahnsinns Refrain „ we are leather boyz with electric toyz, making noiz tonight, ein Death oder Blackmetal Fan würde wohl bei diesem Album ausrasten. Der zweite Song heisst „Rock n Roll it’s gonna set the night on fire“ und dazu gab es einen Clip der auch bei MTV gespielt wurde, nicht sehr oft aber ich hab ihn gesehen und aufgenommen, das nur so am Rande. Der Song ist nicht so speedig wie der Opener aber er weist eine grandiose Hookline auf und eine sensationelle Melodie, ein Ohrwurm sondergleichen, einmal gehört und nie vergessen. „Wild Angel“ fängt sehr romantisch als Ballade an und wird dann nach dem Zwischenteil noch zum Kracher. Puh, dieser Track ist einfach scharf, sexy und catchy da hätte man sogar zwei Songs draus machen können.

Das Highlite ist meiner Meinung nach die "Mötley Crüe Coverversion von „Toast of the Town“ im Original schon ein toller Song, nachdem ich die Version von "PBF" hörte, fragte ich mich wieso dieser heroische Titel auf keinem Originalen Album von "Crüe" zu hören war. "Toast of the Town" ist übrigens auf der Special Edition von "Too Fast for Love" zu finden und wure vor gut vier Jahren veröffentlicht. „Toast of the Town“ hat eine Wahnsinns Energie und zum Schluss werden die Sticks nur so auf die Drumms gehämmert, der Chorus ist eine Klasse für sich, aber dafür waren nicht "PBF" verantwortlich sondern The Good Old "Crüe". Was darf bei einer guten Glam Band nie fehlen? Genau, eine Ballade und den Abschluss von "Leather Boyz" gibt es wie nicht anders zu erwarten mit dem Schmusesong „ I Wanna be with you“. Auch zu diesem Song gab es einen Clip, der kitschig aber ungemein Kultig wirkt. Super Song und ein toller Hit, sollte auf jedem guten Balladen Sampler sein das Teil. "Leather Boyz" ist ein Klassiker und ein MUSS für jeden Sleazer, so sollte Glam sein und nicht anders.
