Pretty Boy Floyd - Dirty Glam

Was habe ich den da in meinen Fingern? Schon wieder eine „Best of“ von Pretty Boy Floyd? Wer meint er bekomme hier etwas neues geboten der wird bitter enttäuscht. Nun gut, wer nicht alle Alben von „PBF“ oder eine Best of hat, der wird hier sicher seine Freude daran haben. Ein „Hardcore“ Fan allerdings (wie ich einer bin) der kennt schon jeden Song, denn alle befinden sich auf irgendeiner Platte der Jungs aus den USA. Natürlich ist fast jeder Song vom legendären „Leather Boyz“ Album auch hier zu finden, allerdings fehlt mir das geniale „Crüe“ Cover namens „Toast of the Town“ ansonsten wird man hier mit den 89er Kult Songs zugedeckt, nicht weniger als sechs Songs stammen vom „Leather Boyz with Electric Toyz“ Record. Ansonsten sind auch alle anderen Hits der Band auf dieser Scheibe, die Ballade „Summer luv“, das wunderbare „Shy Diane“ oder der Gassenhauer „Saturday Nite“. Was die Kiss Cover Version „Shout it out Loud“ auf der „Dirty Glam Best of“ zu suchen hat, frage ich mich allerdings. Auch wenn ich ein grosser Bewunderer dieser Band bin, muss ich gestehen das dieses Cover alles andere als gelungen ist. Wenn wir schon bei Cover Versionen sind, dann hört euch doch einmal die Version von „Department of Youth“ an, wenn das nicht rockt weis ich auch nicht. Das Original stammt übrigens von „Alice Cooper“ der leider bei den heutigen Live Shows immer auf diesen grossartigen Song verzichtet. Von den schrecklich produzierten „Vaul 1-2“ hat sich auch der eint oder andere Track auf „Dirty Glam“ geschlichen.

What do I have in my fingers? Already a „Best of“ of Pretty Boy Floyd again? Who thought he would get offered something new, that gets bitter disappointed. Well, who hasn’t all albums of „PBF“ or a best of, who will sure have his pleasure on it. Nevertheless, a „hardcore“ fan (like me), who already knows every song, because all deem themself on any record of the guys from the USA. Natural, almost every song is here to find from the legendary „Leather Boyz“ album too, nevertheless misses me the genius „Crüe“ cover named „Toast of the Town“, otherwise you get covered with the 89 cult songs, not less than six songs are from the „Leather Boyz with Electric Toyz“ record. Otherwise all other hits of this band are on this disc too, the ballad „Summer luv“, the wonderful „Shy Diane“ or the popular song „Saturday Nite“. Nevertheless, I ask myself what the Kiss cover version „Shout it out Loud“ has to look on the „Dirty Glam Best of“. When I’m a big admirer of this band too, I must confess that this cover is everything else than succeed. Already if we are at cover versions, then you listen once to the version of „Departement of Youth“, I don’t know if this doesn’t rock too. By the way, the original descends from „Alice Cooper“, unfortunately who always despises on this great song at today’s live shows. The one or other track has sneaked himself of the horrible produced „Vault 1-2“ on „Dirty Glam“. (Translation by Dominic)
