Poison - Hollyweird

Nach einigen musikalischen Experimenten in den 90ern sind „Poison“ mit „Hollyweird“ Anfang des neuen Jahrtausends wieder zu ihren musikalischen Wurzeln zurückgekehrt; und das auch noch in der Urbesetzung! Herausgekommen ist bei dieser Reunion ein Album, das der perfekte Nachfolger für „Flesh & Blood“ hätte sein können. Wieder gibt es hier einen guten Mix aus Glam und Sleaze, wobei bei den Songs mal der eine mal der andere Stil überwiegt. Ihren Kritikern geben „Poison“ damit mal wieder eine Steilvorlage, denn „Hollyweird“ lässt alle ernsthaften Ansätze der letzten Jahre vermissen und bietet einfach nur perfekte Partymucke, bei der es hauptsächlich um Mädels und Spass geht. Highlights sind auf diesem Album neben dem Titeltrack auf jeden Fall noch die Stücke sieben und acht: „Devil woman“ hat einen echt coolen Text, während „Wasteland“ echt geniale „Glamsounds“ bietet. Besonders die Gitarre gefällt mir hier. Aber auch das restliche Material weiß zu gefallen. Filler oder Totalausfälle sucht man vergebens. Richtig lustig wird es bei den Liedern elf und zwölf Bret’s und CC’s „Home“ story. Leute, die etwas englisch können, sollten da mal genau hinhören! Die Band zeigt auf „Hollyweird“ das man auch in der Neuzeit noch 1A Glamrock machen kann, für den es in den 80ern wohl die ein oder andere Edelmetallauszeichnung gegeben hätte, auch wenn die vier kalifornischen Giftzwerge wohl zu keiner musikalischen Offenbarung mehr werden. Bei dem Spaß, den sie verbreiten, brauchen sie das aber auch gar nicht. Für Fans ist das Album ein Muss!
