Pointers Head - Fireplug - Hysteria

„Pointers Head“ aus Deutschland haben nun endlich ein Label gefunden welches ihre Musik veröffentlichen will, die Band war ja schon länger im Untergrund tätig. Nun wird sich in dieser Review die Frage stellen ob der Deal gerecht war oder ob sie besser im Dunkel geblieben wären. Wenn ich mir die Produktion so anhöre, könnte dies auch glatt ein Demo sein, da habe ich nämlich bereits bessere Eigenproduktionen gehört. Der Stil von „Pointers Head“ schimpft sich Rock und wird von den 70er, 80er wie auch 90er Jahren beeinflusst. Leider hauen mich die Songs echt nicht vom Hocker, man hat zwar ab und zu einen Titel am Start (Pumphead oder Trip to Nowhere) der nicht mal übel klingt, aber zusammen mit dieser laschen Produktion herrscht hier echt nichts. Mir fehlt einfach der letzte Wille, das überragende Songwriting und ein eigenen Stil. Mit „We want it Back“ gibt es dann einen Crossover angehauchten Track, naja da hab ich schon schlechteres gehört. Schlecht ist es ja nicht was die Deutschen hier machen, aber so richtig gut eben auch nicht. Drei, vier Songs sind wirklich solide, aber auf Dauer wird es mir hier einfach zu langweilig und ich betätige den „Stop“ Schalter. Plattendeal hin oder her, ich bin mir sicher das man mit „Fireplug – Hysteria“ keine Erfolge erreichen wird, tut mir zwar leid für die Band, aber es würde mich auch nicht wundern wenn „Pointers Head“ bald wieder im Untergrund tätig wären, für kleine Clubs ist die Musik mehr als nur ok.

Finally, „Pointers Head“ from Germany have found a label, which want release their music, already the band was working longer in the underground. Well, in this review will ask the question, whether the deal was fair or whether they’d have stayed in the dark. If I listen to the own production, this could be a demo too, there I have already heard some better own productions. The style of „Pointers Head“ reviles itself rock and get influenced from the 70’s, 80’s and 90 years. Unfortunately, the songs don’t convince me right, sometimes you have a title in the start (Pumphead or Trip to Nowhere), who even sounds not bad, but together with this lousy production rules nothing here. The last will simple misses me, the rise above songwriting and an own style. Then there’s a crossover breathing track with „We want it Back“, ok I already have heard worse. It isn’t bad what the Germans do here, but even not so right good too. Three, four songs are really solid, but it becomes simple too boring for me here on the while and I press the „Stop“ controller. Record deal to and fro, I’m sure that you will reach no successes with „Fireplug – Hysteria“, I’m sorry for the band, but it wouldn’t wonder me too, when „Pointers Head“ would be working soon in the underground again, this music is more than ok for small clubs.
