Overlorde - Return of the Snow Giant

Overlorde was formed in 1985 by John "Kong" Bunucci (Bass/Lead Vocals) and Mark "M.E." Edwards (Guitar/Background vocals) This power metal act played its first show at the SHOWPLACE in Dover, NJ in November 1985. Their first release dated back to 1987 where they release an EP on Strike Zone Records. Now 2004 will be their first full length CD on Sonic Age Records called The Return of the Snow Giant. The opening track "And the Battle Begins" has a flare of early Saxon/Krokus. For a band that has been around for sometime you would think this would be just an average release, but you would be wrong. This band still has a spirit for bringing the best to the table of metal. Now I am not sure if this release is an epic story so you will have to give it a listen for yourself. The music rocks to a different style of metal. "Starcastle" has a feel of a Loudness tune that has a lot of reverb. Bobby Lucas has some major pipes hitting the highest of notes backed with the power metal. With this release, OVERLORDE will add more fan to its already large following that it has accumulated over the years.
