Overloaded - Hail to the Kingdom

Das nenne ich doch mal einfach gute 80ties Mucke, was uns Overloaded da auf tischen. Im Jahre 2004 in Detroit City gegründet und ausgezogen um der Welt zu zeigen, das auch in den USA noch gute Musik jenseits der Trends gemacht wird. So und nicht anders muss es gewesen. Die Fünfe von Overloaded haben den Dreh raus und spielen eine Musik welche ich schon lange als verschollen glaubte; schnellen und höchst melodischen US-Metal wie man es von Bands wie Breaker, Lizzy Borden, Wardog oder Shock Paris gewohnt war. Der Kenner lauscht natürlich sofort auf, denn schnelle Riffs und coole Hooks gepaart mit geilen Melodien, das gehört sich einfach zum Heavy Metal. Genau das was uns die Jahre über immer irgendwie fehlte, geben uns Overloaded auf „Hail to the Kingdom“. Flott, brachial und mit einem starken Sänger, Chris Gillen erinnert mich ein klein wenig an Jon Corabi (The Scream, Ex-Mötley Crüe) und Ray Gillen (Badlands). Wenn ihr euch einen Mix aus den beiden Sängern vorstellen könnt, wisst ihr wie es klingt. Bei „War of the worlds“ schaffen es Overloaded eine ähnliche Rotzigkeit und Atmosphäre zu schaffen wie Mötley Crüe einst auf ihrem Debüt. Kaum hört man das Anfangsriff, schon beginnt das Adrenalin zu fließen und schießt dir durch den Körper.

Eine echt coole Scheibe von einer tollen Band ist „Hail to the Kingdom“ und jeder der sich hier angesprochen fühlt ist eingeladen mal zur Bandhompage zur surfen und dort die Songs anzutesten.

That is what I would call 80ties music, the sound that Overloaded offer this exactly the stuff I want to hear. Formed 2004 in Detroit City they came to show the world how Heavy Metal has to sound in the Overloaded-Style and they give a fuck about the newest trends. That’s it!

The Five-Piece from Overloaded is something what I thought that is lost. Fast, hard and melodic US-Metal, bands like Breaker, Lizzy Borden, Wardog or Shok Paris have played this style in the past and now it is the turn on Overloaded to carry on with that.

You can listen to some fast riffs, great Hooklines and fantastic melodies, that is Heavy Metal. “Hail to the Kingdom” is the missing link or what? I really like this CD. The Singer Chris Gillen is a strong one and sounds to my ears like a mix out of Jon Corabi (The Scream, EX-Möltey Crüe) and Ray Gillen (Badlands), can you imagine how he sounds? Cool, yes you´re right.

The Songs “War of the Worlds” starts with a awesome riff and the atmosphere Overloaded has created in this moment is just like the raw and powerful attitude Mötley Crüe has shown on their Debut. You hear the riff and the adrenaline starts to flow.
