I have ransacked my old Cd´s and have discovered a quite brilliant album again. McQueen Street will tell most nothing. This Formation from with Derek Welsh (vocals and guitar), Michael Powers (guitar), Richard Hatcher (bass) and Chris Welsh (drums) was an aggressive, no nonsense hardrockband with huge riffs with melodies backed and slight provocative lyrics adorned. Renowned producer Tom Werman was so impressed with their demo that he personally asked to work with the band. Billy Idol and Vince Neil guitarist Steve Stevens also helped produce and lent his hand to some guitar work on the debut album „McQueen Street“ who was released in 1991. The Music you can compare to Bulletboys Freakshow album or Britny Fox „Bite Down Hard“ album. The special touch in every song gives the exceptionally scratchy marvelous voice of Derek Welsh. The most best known song of this album is „My Religion“. Became also quite known by the video on Headbangers ball and in the local discotheques they play it all over again. It was then always called: Does someone knows the band or who is that band? An extremely well excellent album, that you must certainly have!
