Kotipelto - Coldness

Wer kennt nicht den riesigen Wirbel um Stratovarius. Nach dem Weggang von Strato hat Sänger Timo Kotipelto 2004 einfach sein zweites Soloalbum mit Namen „Coldness“ auf den Markt gebracht. Seine riesigen Anhänger waren geschockt und zugleich natürlich heilfroh, dass er dieses Album gestartet hat. Meine Wenigkeit natürlich auch. Ich finde, er ist ein Klasse Sänger, auch wenn er manche Töne, zumindest live nicht ganz rüberbringt. Wie ihr euch auch sicherlich jetzt denken könnt, ist der Sound nicht weit von Stratovarius entfernt. Parallelen kann man immer ziehen, vor allem da auch Bandkollege Jari Kainulainen hier den Bass schwingt. Zusätzlich hat er noch Mike Romeo (Symphony X) und Juhani Malmberg (Tunnelvision) an den Gitarren, Mirka Rantanen (Tunnelvision,Thunderstone) am Schlagzeug und Janne Wirman (Children Of Bodom) am Keyboard an Board geholt. Sein erstes Album kann ich leider nicht vergleichen, somit beziehe ich mich nur auf dieses Album. Passend zum Albumtitel ist auch ein eher düsteres und dunkles Cover hergezaubert worden. Mich würde es auf Anhieb nicht anregen, dafür der Name Kotipelto schon eher. Da ich ein großer Fan von Stratovarius bin und mir schon vorher gedacht habe, dass es bestimmt ein gutes Album sein wird, habe ich mir die CD einfach geholt. Und richtig enttäuscht bin ich nicht. Leider hätten mehr Knüller drauf sein können, so wirkt es mit der Zeit nur noch nebensächlich und hört sich mehr und mehr nach Stratovarius an, anstatt mehr eigene Ideen zu verwirklichen. Hier folgen schnelle Songs auf Mid-Tempo Songs und dabei gibt es eigentlich keine richtige Ballade, was zur Abwechslung mal ganz angenehm ist. Meine Faves sind „Reasons“, „Around“, „Coldness Of My Mind“, „Take Me Away“ und „Here We Are“. Alle Strato Fans werden dieses Album lieben. Wer den Sound mag, greift zu!

Who doesn't know the gigantic whirl around Stratovarius? After the departure of Strato singer Timo Kotipelto has he released his second solo album called „Coldness“ 2004 on the market. His Fans were shocked and at the same time of course jolly glad that he has started this album. Of course i also. I think he is a great singer even if he doesn´t hits live some tones. However you surely can imagine now that the Sound isn't far away from Stratovarius. You also can draw parallels primarily since band colleague Jari Kainulainen also swings the bass here. In addition he took also Mike Romeo (Symphony X) and Juhani Malmberg (Tunnelvision) on the guitars, Mirka Rantanen (Tunnelvision,Thunderstone) on drums and Janne Wirman (Children Of Bodom) on keyboard on board. Unfortunately, I cannot compare his first album therefore , I only refer this album. A rather gloomy and dark cover also has matchingly the album title been conjured up here. It wouldn't effect me but the name Kotipelto would interests me more. Since I am a big fan of Stratovarius and have already imagined before that it will be a good album certainly, I simply have bought the CD. And I am not disappointed. Unfortunately, more could have been sensations on this, so after a time it´s not so interessting anymore and sound more and more like Stratovarius instead of putting more of his own ideas into it. Fast songs follow songs on Mid speed and doesn't give any correct ballad actually, what is for the chance quite pleasant here. My faves are „Reasons“, „Around“, „Coldness Of My Mind“, „Take Me Away“ and „Here We Are“. All Strato fans will love it. Who like the sound should take it!
