James Christian - Meet the Man

“Meet the man” ist ein weiteres Soloprojekt vom Sänger von House of Lords James Christian. Unterstützt wurde er dabei unter anderem von seinen Bandkollegen Chuck Wright und Lanny Cordola und sogar Stan Bush! Da ist es eigentlich kein Wunder, das ein 1A Album dabei herausgekommen ist, welches jede Menge guter Songs in einem perfekten Mix aus Hardrock und AOR bietet, der jeden 80er Fan in Begeisterung verfallen lässt.

Gleich die ersten beiden Stücke „After the love has gone“ und „Know you in the dark“ sind ein gutes Beispiel für den Hardrock/Melodic Mix. Härte und Tempo sind gut ausbalanciert und stellen so weder den Melodic- noch den Rockfaktor in den Vordergrund. Das dritte Stück „Surrender your love“ ist die erste Ballade des Albums, die auch ohne Einschränkungen überzeugen kann.

Am meisten gefreut habe ich mich aber über Lied acht „Strong Enough“. Hier wird das Tempo ein ganzes Stück schneller. Der Song geht einfach richtig geil ab. Alleine das Gitarrenintro ist schon der Hammer und trifft meinen Geschmack voll und ganz. Auch das nachfolgende Lied „You should be blue“ bietet noch mal wirklich guten Melodic Rock.

„Meet the man“ kann man eigentlich uneingeschränkt empfehlen. Musik, Gesang und Stimmung passen super zusammen und es gibt auch keinen Filler auf dem Album. Unglaublich, das auch heutzutage noch so gute Musik gemacht wird!

“Meet the man” is another soloproject of the House of Lords’ singer James Christian. Among others he was supported by his bandmates Chuck Wright and Lanny Cordola and even Stan Bush! Therefore it is no wonder, that the outcome is a really good album, with lots of outstanding songs in a perfect mix of hardrock and AOR that will excite every eighties fan.

The first two songs “After the love is gone” and “Know you in the dark” are a good example for the hardrock/melodic mix. Guitars and speed maintain a good balance, so neither the rock- nor the melodic factor is dominating. The third song “Surrender your love” is the album’s first ballad and is also completely convincing.

But the song I was most happy about was number eight “Strong enough”. It’s getting a little faster and harder here; the song just rocks! The guitar intro alone is already great and quite represents my taste of music. Song number nine “You should be blue” once again offers great melodic rock.

I can recommend “Meet the man” without restrictions. There is no filler on the album and music and singing fit together perfectly and let the 80ies roll once again. Unbelievable that they can still make such good music in today’s time.
