Jaded Heart - Helluva Time

Nun ja, ich muss schon zugeben, dass ich schon immer Jaded Heart Fan war und noch immer bin, auch Michael Bormanns Stimme angenehm fand und mit seinem Rausschmiss nie gerechnet habe. Was auch immer die Gründe dafür waren, obwohl es in der Gerüchteküche hoch her ging, sei Jaded Heart überlassen gewesen. Es gab ja viele Spekulationen, wer ein würdiger Nachfolger sein könnte und ob es ohne Michael Bormanns Songwriting überhaupt mit der Band weitergehen kann. Das aber haben uns Jaded Heart mit bravour gezeigt. Mit ihrem neuen Sänger Johan Fahlberg (Ex-Scudiero), aus dem schön kalten blaugelben Elchenland, haben sie einen hervorragenden Glücksgriff erzielt. Meiner Meinung nach hätten sie keinen besseren finden können! Nicht anders zu erwarten, sind sie auf ihrem mittlerweile siebten Studioalbum „Helluva Time“ ihrem Sound treu geblieben. Der einzige Unterschied mit einer kräftigen Portion neuer fantastischer Ideen im mehr “modernen“ Stil, denke ich haha!!! Wer so eine Kombination nicht für unübertrefflich hält, der sollte wirklich gut nachdenken. Ich sag ja immer, Schweden ist das Tor zum Glück!!! Schon der erste Ton dieses heißen Eisens, sprengt alle Erwartungen. Mit „Tomorrow Comes“ hätten sie keinen besseren Song wählen können, um diese Reise zu starten. Harmonische Gitarrenklänge, kräftige Bässe blasen uns um die Ohren, reibungslose Übergänge von Schlagzeug und Keyboard. Das Tüpfelchen auf dem I, ist Fahlbergs aussagekräftige Stimme. Er kann sich locker in die vielen schwedischen „High-Class“ Sänger einreihen. Er gibt allen Songs, die richtige Würze und kann mal kräftig hoch Schreien oder mal rührend sanft Winseln, wie er gerade aufgelegt ist. Alle Songs sind eher im Mid-Tempo gehalten und es gibt keinen richtig schnellen Kracher, mit double bassdrums sozusagen,aber sowas hatten sie ja auch nie! Mit viel mehr Power und fetzigen Gitarrensolos lassen sie es auf Helluva Time nur so krachen. Was mich auch gewundert hat, ist der Coversong „Paid My Dues“ von Anastasia. Obwohl ich von der Dame nur einen Song richtig gut finde, haben Jaded Heart, den Song viel besser gecovert. Alle Achtung, mit einem Wort, superb! Meine Lieblinge sind „Tomorrow Comes“, „Somewhere“, „Dreams You´ll Never See“, „Paid My Dues“ und „Frozen Heart“. Fazit des Ganzen: Tolles Songwriting, gute Zusammenarbeit als Team und viel Spass! Ran an den Geldbeutel und holt euch das Teil.

Now, I must admit that I always was a Jaded Heart fan and am still, also liked Michael Bormanns voice and never counted that they kick him out. Whatever the reasons for that was, although it went highly strong in the rumor kitchen, what was Jaded Hearts decision in the end. There were many speculations, who a worth successor could be and whether if they can continue as Jaded Heart without Michael Bormanns songwriting at all. However Jaded Heart showed it with bravour. With their new singer Johan Fahlberg (Ex-Scudiero) from the beautiful cold blue-yellow elk country, have they obtained an outstanding grasp luck. According to my opinion they couldn´t found one better! How it was expected didn´t they faithfully chainced their sound in the meantime seventh Studioalbum "Helluva time". The only difference is with a strong portion of new fantastic ideas in the more “modern” style, I think haha!!! Who doesn´t consider so a combination for unsurpassable should think about it really well. I always say, Sweden is an open gate to the luck!!! Already the first tone of this hot iron, blows away all expectations. With "Tomorrow Comes" couldn´t they select a better song, in order to start this journey. Harmonious guitar sounds, strength bass blows around our ears, smooth transitions of drums and keyboards. The point on the I is, Fahlbergs meaningful voice. He can join easily the main Swedish "High Class" singers. He gives the correct spice to all songs and can sometimes strongly high screaming or very gentle whimper, how he straight feel like it. All Songs are more in the Mid-Speed and it doesn´t give any heavier songs, with double bassdrum, but that they never had! With much more power and crazy guitar solos let they crack it on Helluva time. What also surprised me, is the coversong from Anastasia "Paid My Dues". Even I just like one song from that lady, I think, Jaded Heart covert the song damn good. All attention, just one word, superb! My favourites are „Tomorrow Comes“, „Somewhere“, „Dreams You´ll Never See“, „Paid My Dues“ and „Frozen Heart“. Result of the whole album: Great songwriting, good co-operation as one team and much fun! Run to the shops as fast as you can and get it.
