Impellitteri - Screaming Symphony

Impellitteri ist eine amerikanische Band und basiert musikalisch unter dem professionellen Gitarristen Chris Impellitteri mit Unterstützung einem offen schwankenden Line-Up und die Band hatte auch Ihre Up and Downs zu verzeichnen aber erlangten mit Recht einen wohlverdienten Namen in der Neo-Klassik Metalszene. Impellitteris „Screaming Symphony“ war mein erstes Album von Ihnen und ich muss gestehen, dass ich die fünf Alben davor nicht kenne. Aus dem Internet erfuhr ich dass die Musik vor dem fünften Album ein bisschen ruhiger sein sollte, kann ich aber nicht bestätigen. Es gibt ja nun mittlerweile so viele Gitarrengenies und Impellitteri beeindruckt mich nicht nur mit seiner Technik, sondern auch weil er großartige Songs schreibt und nicht nur einfach Songs um seine Solos zu platzieren! Sein stürmisches spielen erstellt eigentlich immer explodierende Alben und erinnert manchmal auch an Yngwie Malmsteen. „Screaming Symphony“ ist einer dieser Alben und eröffnet mit „Father Forgive Them“ ein tolles Hochgefühl. Ich muss auch sagen, dass das ganze Album klingt als wäre die Band von ihrem eigenen Sound besessen. Rob Rocks fantastische Stimme passt bei jedem Song perfekt ins Bild. Der erste Mid-Tempo Song ist „Countdown To The Revolution“. Die schreiende Gitarre vermischt sich einmalig mit der magiereichen Stimme Robs. Die Kombination dieser beider Elemente lässt keinen Raum für der Rest der Band, die einfach mitfolgen und den Sound ausfüllen. Der wohl schwierigste Song dieses Albums kann man bei „For Your Love“ erwägen. Der zappelnde Instrumentalsong „17th Century Chicken Pickin´“ bringt etwas schwung in das Album. Mit dem formellen und abschließenden Song „You Are The Fire“ fällt dann der Vorhang zu. Wie bei allen Impellitteri Alben ist auch „Screaming Symphony“ gut produziert. Für alle Gitarren-Fetischisten ist dieses Album mit Sicherheit ein wahres Glück, die anderen können daran aber auch ihren Gefallen finden.

Impellitteri is an american band basically a musical outlet for skilled guitarist Chris Impellitteri with the assistance of a fairly fluctuating line-up and the band has had its share of ups and down but has also earned itself a well-deserved name on the neo-classical metal scene. Impellitteris „Screaming Symphony“ was my first album from them and i have to confess that i don´t know the five albums before. From the Internet i found out that the music before the 5th album a bit quieter should be, but i can´t confess this. In the meantime there are so many guitar virtuoses out and Impellitteri impresses me not only with his technique but also that he write great songs and not simply songs to put around his solos! His furious playing actually created always blasting albums and remind sometimes also on Yngwie Malmsteen. “Screaming Symphony” is one of those albums and started with „Father Forgive Them“ a great elation. I also must say, that the whole album sounds as if the band were possessed of their own Sound. Rob Rocks fantastic voice fits in perfecly on every song. The first mid tempo song is “Countdown To The Revolution”. The screaming guitar blends uniquely with the magic voice of Robs. The combination of those two elements leaves no room for the rest of the band that simply follows and fills the sound. The catchiest song of this album can be considered to be “For Your Love”. The tantalizing instrumental “17th Century Chicken Pickin’” brings a little swing to the album. With the formal and final song „You Are The Fire“ the curtain closed then. As with all Impellitteri albums “Screaming Symphony” has a great production. For all guitar fetishists this album is a real happiness certainly, the others, however, also can find their favor at it.
