Firehouse - Hold your Fire

Nach dem erfolgreichen Debut Album aus dem Jahre 1990, stellten die Amis von „Firehouse“ dann zwei Jahre später den Nachfolger „Hold your Fire“ vor. Der Longplayer war ungefähr gleich aufstrebend wie ihr erster Streich. Die Jungs setzten auf feinen 80er Hardrock mit charismatischen Melodien. Der Opener „Reach for the Sky“ war auch gleich die erste Singleauskopplung, zu der es auch ein nettes Video gab. Auch wenn die Grunge Welle Einzug hielt, konnten sich Anfang der 90er ein paar Bands an der Oberfläche halten. „Firehouse“ waren so eine, ihre Clips wurden noch auf MTV gespielt, nur leider ging die Sage mit ihrem dritten Album dann zu Ende. Ich mag „Hold your Fire“ eigentlich genau so gerne wie das Debut, ok die Stimme von „C.J“ ist natürlich Geschmackssache, es wird sicherlich einige geben, welche seine Zuckerwatte Vocals über alles hassen. Nebst „Reach for the Sky“ gab’s auch noch einen Clip zur wunderschönen Ballade „When I look into your Eyes“. Dieser Silberling strotzt nur so von frischen Melodien im Ohrwurm Format. „Sleeping with you“ weist eine feine Melodie auf und einen angenehmen Refrain. Die vorher angesprochene Ballade „When I look into your Eyes“ wird absolut traumhaft gesungen, Himmel, Wolken Sonne…..eine zauberhafte Frau, ja einfach nur wunderschön. Mit „Hold your Dream“ befindet sich noch eine zweite nicht weniger tolle Ballade auf dem Album. Schade das nach diesem Album nicht mehr allzu viel zu hören war von „Firehouse“, die Band hat unterdessen noch ein paar Scheiben auf den Markt gebracht, aber an den Erfolg konnten sie leider nie mehr anknüpfen.

„Firehouse“ have introduced two years later their follower to „Hold your fire“, after their successful debut album from the year 1990. The longplayer was about same ambitionated like their first trick. The guys have set on fine 80’s hard rock with charismatic melodies. The opener „Reach for the Sky“ was the first single output soon, there was a nice video to her. When the grunge wave hold entry too, some bands could hold themself on the surface in the beginning of the 90’s. „Firehouse“ were one, their clips yet got played on MTV, then unfortunately the saga went in the end with their third album. I proper like „Hold your Fire“ as much as the debut, natural the voice of „C.J.“ is a matter of taste, there are surly some, which over all hate his candy floss voice. There yet was a clip to the beautiful ballad „When I look into your Eyes“ next to „Reach for the Sky“. This silver disk only exuberates of fresh melodies in catchy tune size. „Sleeping with you“ wises up a fine melodie and a pleasant chorus. The spoken on ballad „When I look into your Eyes“ before gets singed absolut beautiful, sky, clouds, sun….. a beautiful woman, just wonderful. There finds a second, not little furious ballad on the album with „Hold your Dream“. Too bad, that wasn’t much more to hear from „Firehouse“ after this album, meanwhile the band has brought some diskes on the market yet, but they never could resume in the success anymore.
