Dark Angel - Darkness Descends

Getreu nach dem Motto nur die Härte zählt, haben sich auch Dark Angel 1986 gedacht: So soll es sein. Nach ihrem geilen Debüt legte man mit „Darkness Descends“ noch ein paar Schippen nach. Ich finde zusammen mit „Bounded by Blood“ von Exodus und „Reign in Blood“ von Slayer“ ist die 2te Dark Angel eine Scheibe, die an Härte, Brutalität und Durchschlagskraft nicht zu überbieten ist. Komm mir jetzt keiner mit Death-, oder Black-Metal, oder gar den Nu-Hampeln von Fear Factory und Konsorten, die sind nix gegen Gene Hoglans Mördertruppe.

Jeder Thrash-Metal-Maniac muss diese Scheibe im Schrank haben, egal ob er nun auf klassisches Vinyl oder CD steht. Schon der ultrabrutale Opener und Titelsong hinterlässt nur verbrannte Erde. Der Sänger(äh, ja der Ausdruck passt hier nicht so richtig) welcher hier noch am Werke ist, klingt so was von überdreht und ätzend, das die Musik einen leicht durchgeknallten Touch bekommt. Das Gitarristen-Tandem aus Eric Meyer und Jim Durkin, legen mit ihren Riffs und den rasend schnellen Solos, die Messlatte für kommende Veröffentlichungen recht hoch an. Und Wahnsinnsschlagzeuger Gene Hoglan ist ein Gott hinter den Kesseln, was für eine Kraft. Bandklassiker wie „The Burning of Sodom“ oder das abgöttisch geile „Perish in Flames“ lehren den MTV-Kids das fürchten und schicken sie schon nach den ersten Minuten Heim zur Mutti. Ja, Leute Thrash-Metal braucht nicht nett zu sein, es zählt die Brutalität.

Seine Höhepunkte hat „Darkness Descends“ sicherlich mit den Granaten „Death is Certain (Life is not)“ oder dem übermächtigen „Merciless Death“ (den Song gab es schon auf dem Debüt, wurde aber hier noch mal neu eingespielt, da „We have arrived“ doch ein an dünnen Sound kränkelte). Schon das Intro zu „Merciless Death“ lässt nichts Gutes erahnen und dann ist eh zu spät, Dark Angel brettern einen, wenn nicht sogar ihren besten Song, durch eure Gehöhrgänge. We give you merciless.......DEATH!!

Habt ihr auch so Leute die euch nerven und ständig erzählen, das die neusten Hüpfkopfsocken so hart und brutal wären? Dann schleift sie zur nächsten Stereoanlage und lasst sie Dark Angel antesten. Sicher werden sie heulen, weinen und es nicht mögen, aber hier gibt keine Gnade.................................... IT`S TIME TO LEAVE SCARS!!!!!!!



Faithfully after the slogan only the hardness counts also Dark fishing rod 1986 imagined, then it is to be. After its awesome debut one put a few brickets with "Darkness Descends" still after. I personal thinkt that the 2nd Dark Angel disk, which is not to be over-bid at hardness, brutality and striking power, togther with the “Reign in Blood” from Slayer and mighty “Bounded by Blood” from Exodus. Come me now none with Death -, or Black Metal, or the Nu-Faggots of Fear Factory ands, those are nothing against Gene Hoglans murderer troop.

Each Thrash Metal Maniac must have this disk in the cabinet, all the same whether he stands now on classical Vinyl or CD. Already the ultravilonet Opener and Titelsong leave only burned earth. The Singer(aeh, the expression fits here not so correctly) which is still to works here, sounds so which from overturned and corrosive, which gets the music an easily through-slammed Touch. The guitarist tandem made of Eric Meyer and Jim Durkin, put on the measuring pole for coming publications with her reef and that racing fast Solos, quite highly. And the Murderes Drummer Gene Hoglan is a God behind the boilers, which for a strength. Volume classical authors like "The Burning OF Sodom" or the Godlike great "Perish in Flames" teach the MTV Kids be afraid and send that them already after the first minutes home to the mummy. Yes, people Thrash Metal does not need to be nice, it counts the brutality.

Its "Darkness Descends" has highlights surely with the shells "Death is Certain (Life is not)" or the over-powerful "Merciless Death" (there was the Song already on the debut, however brought in, there to "We have arrived" at thin sound was ailing). Already the Intro to "Merciless Death" lets suspect nothing property and then is already too late, Dark Angel boarded one, if not even its best Song,through your ears. We give you merciless.......DEATH!! Have you people you nerves and to constantly tell also in such a way, which would be the newest hopping head socks so hard and brutal? Then it sharpens to the next stereoand lets it Dark Angel test. They will howl surely, cry and it to like, but no grace gives here…..
