Burning Rain - Pleasure to burn

Bei "Pleasure to burn" handelt es sich um das 2. Album von Burning Rain, der Band um den jetzigen Whitesnake-Gitarristen Doug Aldrich (ex-Lion, -Bad Moon Rising und -Dio). Konnte ich mit dem Debüt mit Ausnahme einiger Songs noch nicht so viel anfangen, so muss ich gestehen, dass die Band mit "Pleasure to burn" einen großen Schritt nach vorne gemacht hat. Wer bisher mit der Band nicht vertraut war, dem sei gesagt, dass Burning Rain Hard Rock in der Tradition von Whitesnake (kein Wunder, oder) oder auch Deep Purple spielen und diesen Sound ins neue Jahrtausend adaptieren. Die Band klingt also auf keinen Fall altbacken. Das tragende Instrument bei Burning Rain ist natürlich die Gitarre von Doug Aldrich, aber auch Sänger Keith St. John versteht es mit seiner leicht bluesigen Stimme Akzente zu setzen. Herausragende Songs sind das riffbetonte "Stone Cold N'Crazy", der melodische Midtempo-Track "Cherie don't break my heart" sowie das leicht epische "Judgement Day". Freunde traditioneller Hard Rock-Klänge oder Whitesnake-Fans können somit diese Scheibe blind kaufen, aber auch andere sollten ruhig mal ein Ohr riskieren.

It’s about the second album of Buring Rain at „Pleasure to burn“, the band about the current Whitesnake-guitar player Doug Aldrich (ex-Lion, -Bad Moon Rising and –Dio). I couldn’t start much with the debut with exception of some songs, so I must confess, that the band has done a big step forward with „Pleasure to burn“. Who wasn’t in trust with the band so far, whom may said, that Buring Rain play hard rock in tradition of Whitesnake (no wonder, or) or Deep Purple and adapt this sound into the new year thousand. The band doesn’t sound old in no case. Natural, the wearing instrument at Burning Rain is the guitar of Doug Aldrich, but Singer Keith St. John understands to set accents with his light bluesy voice too. Emphasize songs are the riff stressed „Stone Cold N’Crazy“, the melodic midtempo-track „Cherie don’t break my heart“ as soon as the simple epic „Judgement Day“. Therefore friends of traditional hard rock-tunes or Whitesnake.fans can buy this disc blind, but others should risk an ear too. (Translation by Dominic)
