Der Sound von Burning Point ist einzigartig und kann man dem klassischen Metal wie Accept, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath oder Yngwie Malmsteen zuordnen. Von der Schnelligkeit würde ich die Energie von Bands wie Children Of Bodom nennen. Sogar wie in einem Land wie Finnland, Heimat von vielen musikalischen Talenten ist Pete Ahonen außergewöhnlich. Nicht nur, weil er ein fantastischer Gitarrist ist, klug die klassische Eleganz seines großen Idols Yngwie Malmsteens kombiniert mit dem modernen Sound von Children Of Bodom, aber sogar seine einzigartige Stimme konstant die Übergänge zwischen dunklen und hohen Tönen besteht, erwacht Erinnerungen an große Sänger wie Jeff Scott Soto. Gegründet wurde das Ganze im Herbst 1999 in Oulu, Finnland. Sie erzielten einen Plattenvertrag bei einem bekannten deutschen Metal-Label und veröffentlichten dort die Alben „Salvation By Fire“ (2001) und „Feeding The Flames“ (2003), sowie in Finnland/Schweden die Single „To Hell And Back“ (2004) über Poison Arrow Records. Auch nach rechtlichen Problemen, Verlust des Plattenvertrages konnten sie auf mehreren Festivals spielen. Mit ihrem DEMO landeten sie 2005 Aufmerksamkeit des Deutschen Labels Metal Heaven und veröffentlichen „Burned Down The Enemy“ was einerseits Ende einer Ära war und andererseits etwas komplett Neues startete. Das neue Line-Up strotzt vor Energie und alle Bandmitglieder sind zu 100% hinter der Band. Musikalisch ist ihr drittes Werk die bislang mit Abstand härteste und progressivste CD, die hier aber jedoch immer noch den Schwerpunkt auf schöne Melodien und große Chorusse legt. Die ltd. Burning Point´s musical style is a unique blend of Classic Metal like Accept, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath or Yngwie Malmsteen. From the speed I would say Bands as Children Of Bodom. Even in nation like Finland, home of numerous musical talents, Pete Ahonen is exceptional. Not just because he is fantastic guitarist, cleverly combining the classical elegance of his great idol Yngwie Malmsteen with the modern sound of Children Of Bodom, but even his unique voice with it´s constant transitions between darker and lighter tones, awakens memories of such as great vocalists as Jeff Scott Soto. Burning Point was founded in the Fall of 1999 in Oulu, Finland. They managed to get a record deal with a well-known German based metal label where they released the albums „Salvation By Fire“ (2001) and „Feeding The Flames“ (2003) plus the single „To Hell And Back“ (2004) on Poison Arrow Records (Finland/Sweden only). Even after massive legal problems, the loss of their record deal they could still play live on some festivals. In 2005, they recorded another promotional CD which was brought to the attention of Metal Heaven in Germany who offered the band a record deal and released „Burned Down The Enemy“ both marks the end of an era but also the beginning of something new. The new Line-Up is packed with energy and all band members now are totally standing behind the band. Musically, „Burned Down The Enemy“ is by far the most heaviest and aggressive album in the band´s history, although they haven´t forgotten the great melodies and huge choruses.
