Bastardz - No Ass, No Pass

Ein echter Geheimtipp schneit uns da aus Brasilien herein, die Band nennt sich Bastardz und hatte im Jahre 2004 eine gute CD veröffentlicht, die leider erst jetzt zu mir durchgedrungen ist. Aber nicht desto Trotz werde ich euch die Band ans Herz legen. Vor allem weil Brasilien bisher so gut wie gar nicht auf der Glamrock-Landkarte erschienen ist, zu mindest sind mir keine Bands dieses Genres aus dem Land von Samba und Zuckerhut bekannt. Auf dem Cover hält uns erst mal eine dralle Blondine ihre Argumente ins Gesicht. JAAA, wer braucht schon das Gesicht der Dame. Okay, kleiner Scherz, dreht man die CD um, so sehen wir 5 Typen die bis zum Anschlag aufgerüscht sind. Image und Optik passen schon mal wunderbar in unser Weltbild. Kommen wir doch mal zur Musik von Bastardz.

Sofort zum Player und die Anlage aufgedreht….?!??!?! Yes, das sind doch mal echte Bratgitarren die gut nach vorne Dampf machen. Der Sound dieses 5-Trackers ist vom feinsten und lässt mich sofort in die Banger-Pose verfallen. Amtliche Arbeit haben die Brasilianer hier geliefert und rocken einen gefährlichen Glamrock-Cocktail in bester Faster Pussycat, Love/Hate und Cats in Boots-Manier. Vorsicht ist bei Sänger Nat geboten, der man hat eine Stimme die sehr extrem ist. Eine echte Waffe ist der Kerl, um es mal salop auszudrücken. Am Anfang fand ich seine Stimme einfach daneben, doch nach einiger Zeit gewöhnt man sich an das quietschende Organ. Es erinnert mich ein wenig an Jizzy Pearl (Ex-Love/Hate, Ex-Alders Appetitte). Auf jeden ist er Einer den man unter vielen heraushört und gut zur Mucke passt. Von den 5 Songs gibt es keinen Stinker zu melden und ich bin wieder mal ein wenig enttäuscht dass sich Batardz nicht dazu durchgerungen haben einen Longplayer zu machen. Bestellt euch „No Ass, No Pass“ über die Bandhompage. Wenn ihr Gitarrist Thomas kontaktet, dann habt ihr wohl einen Deutschen am anderen Ende, zumindest hat er in Deutsch geantwortet.

Something really special comes around from Brazil, the band is called Bastardz and they have released this CD in 2004. I have got my hands on this CD now, and I would like to tell you something about it. Brazil is not really famous for their Glamrock-Scene and so I thing we can support the Bastardz as well. Have a look at the Cover and some big boobed blonde shows us here weapons, who needs the face of this lady, ha? I’m joking, turn the CD around and on the back you will find 5 dolly looking guys. That’s enough for me to check the CD in my Stereo. Image and looks are in our way and taste, so let the music do the talking.

Turn it up louder; we have some real cool and great sounding guitars here. Hell my ass, the sound, or should I say the production is way good? Yeah, they sound great and I will start my banging pose after the first chords. A dangerous Glamrock-Cocktail in the vain of Faster Pussycat, Love/Hate or Cats in Boots is what you get here. Maybe you should be careful when you’re whimpy, singer Nate is a dangerous weapon. His voice sounds really extreme and his screams are a bit out of tune, but it sounds cool. To be honest, at my first round of this CD, I thought Oh My God, but with the time I began to love the sound of his voice. Nate reminds me a bit on Jizzy Pearl (Ex-Love/Hate, Ex-Adlers Appetite). To cut a long story short, it fits great with the music. Every Track of the 5 Songs are great, no stinkers among them. A bit disappointed am I, cause of the fact that Bastardz haven’t made a full long player.
