Bangalore Choir - On Target

Hier sollte wieder jeder die Ohren aufsperren. Bangalore Choir ist eine sehr talentierte Gruppe und leider brachten sie nur ein Album „No Target“ 1992 heraus. Alleine ihre Namen lassen den ein oder anderen vor Freude aufseufzen. Das Quintett besteht aus David Reece am Gesang (er ersetzte Udo Dirkschneider bei Accept auf einem Album), Ian Mayo am Bass und Jackie Ramos am Schlagzeug (beide bekannt von der Band Hericane Alice) und die Gitarristen Curt Mitchell und John Kirk. Alleine der energiegeladene Opener „Angel in Black“ ist eine recht ungewöhnliche Cover-Version von Autograph, zeigt dass diese Band keine „Möchtegern“ Poser sind. Kein Wunder, die Jungs sehen nicht nur gut aus, sondern machen auch noch gute Musik. Reeces rauchig gewürzte Rock-Röhre und die starken backing vocals mit tollem Refrain blasen dich einfach nur so weg. Viele Gitarrenklirrende und extrem fette Vokalpartien sind sehr charakteristisch für dieses Album. Songs wie „Loaded Gun“, „Goin´The Dance“, „All Or Nothin´“, „Slippin´Away“, „She Can´t Stop“, „Freight Train Rollin´“ und „Just One Night“ fallen in diese Sparte. Die beiden Balladen „If The Good Die Young (We´ll Live Forever)“ und „Hold On To You“ sind so richtige Highlights. Die extrem gute Stimme Reeces ist ein einziges Talent und nicht zu erlernen, die Stimme hat man einfach. Solltest du je gefragt werden, was deiner Meinung nach Melodikrock ist Sound/Einstellung/Gefühlsweise, dann spiel Ihnen den Song vor und wenn sie es dann noch nicht verstehen, dann sind sie verloren.

Bangalore Choir is a very talented Group and it´s a pity that just only one album „No Target“ came out 1992. Alone from their names let one or more get happy. The quintet consists from David Reece on vocals(he replaced Udo Dirkschneider in Accept for one Album), Ian Mayo on bass und Jackie Ramos on drums (both known from the band Hericane Alice) and the two guitarists Curt Mitchell und John Kirk. Alone the energy loaded opener „Angel in Black“ is a extraordinary cover version of Autograph and shows that the band isn´t some softdick poser. No wonder these guys don't look only good but also play good music. Reeces smoky-flavored voice and the strong backing vocals with great refrain blows you away. Much guitar rattling and extremely fat vocal parts are very characteristic for this album. Tracks such as „Loaded Gun“, „Goin´The Dance“, „All Or Nothin´“, „Slippin´Away“, „She Can´t Stop“, „Freight Train Rollin´“ and „Just One Night“ falls in this division. The two ballads „If The Good Die Young (We´ll Live Forever)“ and „Hold On To You“ are Highlights. The extrem good voice Reeces is a real talent and not to learn, that voice you have or not. If you ever be asked what shares your opinion according to melodic rock sound/attitude/feeling-wise just play this songs and if they doesn´t understand it then they are lost.
