I must confess that I never was a fan of bands like Led Zeppelin or the house of lords. They may rock awesome, with a good singer, but somehow they always were to pale for me. I exactly feel this at the “Badlands” too where Ex Kiss and Alice Cooper drummer “Eric Singer” has swinged the drums and guitar good “Jake E. Lee” has tugged the sides. The band shurely has power, that I must confess, nevertheless I just never get warm with their songs. “High Wire” isn’t a bad song, but I can’t pull a face. It goes better with “Dreams in the Dark”, here it gives me no smile too. At the superfluous instrumental track “Jade Song” naturaly not too. You listen that the band knows her handwork, on the vocals stands a man with the name “Ray Gillen” no idea, whether he yet was in other bands too, but I confess that he would be a furious singer, only not my stil. “Winter’s Call” starts acoustic, you already think a balld, but then it goes along sluggish and then gest heavier – 08/15 sorry guys!! Sure, there are many people which like the debut of “Badlands”, I naturaly respect this, but I couldn’t start something with them 10 years ago and it’s still so today. After some songs, I just lose the lust and have to quit, don’t get me wrong, the album isn’t so bad, but it’s not my style.
