Amethyste - Thrown Off Balance

Wer von mir eine gescheite “Death Metal” Rezension erwartet der wird wohl enttäuscht, aber natürlich versuche ich wie immer mein bestes. Mit diesem Genre konnte ich ehrlich gesagt noch nie etwas anfangen und mir gefallen gerade mal zwei Bands, die da lauten „Death“ und „Morgoth“. Zum Glück sind „Amethyste“ durchaus hörbar auch wenn sie ein volles Brett an brutalen Death Salben auf meine Ohren abfeuern. Sehr positiv finde ich schon mal dass sich der Drum Sound relativ cool anhört, knallharte Schläge aber ohne sinnloses gehacke. Der Opener „World of Pervestemptation“ hört sich schon nicht schlecht an, fetter Beat und die Vocals sind in Sachen Death Metal doch sehr human. Weiter geht es mit dem Titeltrack „Thrown Off Balance“ der sogar eine Melodie aufweist, „I Am“ passt mir dann aber gar nicht, den Song halte ich für Krach. Nun, es ist ziemlich schwierig ein Album aus einem Genre zu kritisieren das einem von Grund auf nicht gefällt, ein paar Tracks sind wirklich gut und sogar für Non Death Fans hörbar, „Control the Masses“ als Beispiel oder das 10 Minuten lange „Modern Times Syndrom“. Der Sound ist gut, die Produktion solide und die Franzosen beherrschen ihre Instrumente wirklich. Wer auf Death Metal steht, sollte sich die Scheibe man anhören, die anderen kaufen sich vielleicht lieber die neue von „D.A.D.“!

Who expects a smart „death metal“ review, who will probably disappointed, but natural I always try my best. Honest said, I never could start something with this genre and just two bands please me, which are „Death“ and „Morgoth“. Good luck, „Amethyste“ are throughout listenable, if they fire a full board of brutal death salvos on my ears too. Already I think very positive is that the drum sound listens relative cool, banghard punches, but without senseless hacking. Already the opener „World of Pervestemptation“ sounds not bad, fat beat and the vocals are very human in things of death metal. It goes along with the titletrack „Thrown Off Balance“, who even shows a melody, „I Am“ doesn’t suit me at all, I think the song is noise. Well, it’s quite difficult to criticise an album from a genre, that generally doesn’t please one by reason, some tracks are really good and even listenable for non death fans, for example „Control the Masses“ or the ten minute long „Modern Times Syndrom“. The sound is good, the production is solid and the Frenchs really rule their instruments. Who tends to death metal should listen to this disc, probably the others rather buy the new of „D.A.D“!
