“Doin´you Nasty” ist das 2te Album der schwedischen Sleazerocker Babylon Bombs und es hat sich auch genügend Stoff für ein erneutes Interview mit Dani angesammelt. Denn die 5 Fragen im Quadrat welche unserer ehemaliger Mitarbeiter aus dem Land der unbegrenzten Unmöglichkeiten seinerzeit der Band gab kann man sicher nicht als ein Interview bezeichnen.
Ich nutzte die Chance Dani auch auf den leider sehr enttäuschenden Gig der Bombs im letzten Jahr anzusprechen, doch leider fiel da sein Statement sehr mager aus.
Aber alle anderen Fragen beantwortete der Sänger/Gitarrist mit mehr Elan.

Hey, danke dir für das erneute Interview. Das letzte Babylon Bombs Interview bei Sleaze-Metal.com ist ja schon etwas länger her. Es ist eine Menge bei euch seitdem passiert, wo möchtest du anfangen?
Hey Man, nun wir haben eine Menge Gigs gespielt, Songs geschrieben und unser 2tes Album aufgenommen, welches jetzt als „Doiun you Nasty“ veröffentlicht wurde.
Yep, die 2te Scheibe ist nun zu haben, wieder Mal ein gutes Album, aber ein wenig anders als sein Vorgänger. Erzähl mal von den größten Unterschieden?
Als erstes ist der größte Unterschied der bessere Sound auf „Doin you Nasty“ und es hat eine viel bessere Produktion. Sicher wir haben ein paar härtere Songs diesmal dabei, aber das Album ist immer noch Kick-Ass Babylon-Rock. Wir wollten ein wenig mehr Power in dem Sound legen und ich glaube das ist uns nun gelungen.
Ich finde „Doin´you Nasty“ ist nicht mehr so ein direkter Arschtritt geworden wie „Bozzed“. Es ist mehr entspannter Rock, wie die alten Aerosmith-Sachen. Würdest du mir da zustimmen?
Yeah, das glaub ich auch. Ich habe mir „Boozed“ zwar nie angehört aber sie sollen klasse sein. Aerosmith sind ein wirklich geile Band und sie sind ein großer Einfluss für uns, so liegst du mit deiner Meinung schon richtig.
Ich finde das neue Cover sehr geil, lass mal was dazu hören.
Es wurde von unserem Kumpel Martin von Padrino.se gemacht und es rockt wirklich. Es ist ein schönes einfaches Cover und Rot, Weiß und Schwarz passen echt gut zusammen.
Hast du ein paar Favoriten auf der neuen CD? Meine sind zum Beispiel „Hometown Hero“, „Slip Away“, „Drop the Bomb“ und „White Trash Beauty“.
Ich liebe alle Lieder, aber Zurzeit sind „Hometown Hero“ „Slip Away“ und „Moonshine Beat“ meine Faves.
Ihr habt Mia Coldheart von Crucified Barbara als Gast-Sängerin bei eurer ersten Single „Louder“ am Start. Wie seit ihr mit ihr verbandet?
Wir und ihre Barbaras sind dicke Freunde und so lag es auf der Hand Mia zu fragen als wir eine Gaststimme für das neue Album brauchten. Sie kam zu uns ins Studio und wir hatten echt einen Riesenspaß die Songs mit ihr aufzunehmen. Sie ist auch auf „Proud“ zu hören.
Lohnt es sich für euch überhaupt eine Single herauszubringen? Und wird da noch etwas Bonus für die Fans drauf sein?
Wenn du im Radio gespielt werden willst, dann brauchst du eben eine Single, das ist der Hauptgrund für so was. Natürlich haben wir für die Fans noch ein paar Goodies mit auf die Single gepackt. Es sind ein paar Outtakes von „Cracked, Wide Open &Bruised“ drauf.
Ihr habt ja für das Debüt super gute Presse bekommen. Sehr herausragend sogar als Bonus-Bombe im Rock-Hard, das die auch mal was Gutes an start haben ist schon bewundernswert. Wie wichtig ist die Presse für dich? Und hast du dich schon mal richtig über ein mieses Review aufgeregt?
Jedes Mal wenn du ein gutes Review liest, dann hast du ein echt tolles Feeling, aber ich erinnere mich auch daran dass ein Review eben nur die Meinung eines Einzelnen über die CD ist. So ist die Antwort auf deine Frage: Es ist schön gutes Reviews zu bekommen, aber es bringt mich auch nicht um, wenn mal ein Schlechtes dabei ist.
Ihr werdet (oder habt gerade) ein paar Gigs in Europa gespielt, warum in Deutschland nur so wenige?
Das ist einfach eine Mini-Tour mit ein paar befreundeten Bands um das Album zu promoten und ein paar Interviews zu geben. Wir werden im Herbst eine größere Europatour versuchen auf die Beine zu stellen. Drück mal die Daumen das es klappt.
Okay, jetzt muss ich mal Kritik anbringen. Ich habe euch im letzten Jahr in Münster gesehen und war regelrecht enttäuscht von eurem Auftritt. Ihr kamt da fast schon wie Schlaftabletten rüber. Hier kannst du dich mal dazu äußern.

Öh??!?! da hättest aber ruhig mehr zu sagen können. Lassen wir das. Habt ihr schon irgendwelche Reaktionen aus Übersee bekommen?
Wir haben einen Vertrag über 5 CDs mit Victor/JVC (Hardcore Superstar, Europe. Etc.) für Japan abgeschlossen, so hoffen wir nun dass wir mal bald dort hin können um ein paar Promo-Gigs zu spielen. Wir haben auch gutes Echo aus den USA bekommen, aber bisher keine Pläne um das mal rüber zu fliegen.

Dani, du hast ja früher mit Morgana LeFay gespielt. Warum bist du eigentlich da raus und hast angefangen Sleaze zu spielen?
Der Grund warum ich bei Morgana Leafy ausstieg, war das dich aus der Stadt weggezogen bin wo Morgana Zuhause waren. Warum ich Sleazerock spiele? Ist einfach, ich bin mit der Musik aufgewachsen und höre mir diese Musik an seit ich klein war. Ich mag aber auch Bands wie Queensryche, wenn es um Musik geht ist es gut offen für alles zu sein.
Das sehe ich anders, aber lassen wir das. Hehe. Magst du so genannte Up-To-Date-Musik?
Wenn ich ehrlich bin kann ich mir unter dem Begriff „Up-To-Date“-Mucke nichts vorstellen. Aber wenn damit so was wie NU-Metal oder Slipknot gemeint ist, dann ist das sicher nichts für.
Ich habe da von diesem Glam-Fest in Schweden gehört, was vor kurzem mit Loud n Nasty, Zan Clan und anderen über die Bühne ging. Habt ihr da keine Einladung für bekommen?
Das Konzert wurde von einer Schwedischen Konzert-Agentur veranstaltet und ich glaube sie wollten nur „ihre“ Bands auf dem Billing haben. Ich war aber im Publikum.
Habt ihr irgendwelche Angebote für Festivals vorliegen?
Yeah, aber die sind bis jetzt noch nicht bestätigt.
Mich würde mal interessieren welche CDs du dir im letzten Monat zugelegt hast?
LA Guns-Tales from the Strip, Hardcore Superstar-Same, Mötley Crüpe-Theater of Pain (ich hatte bisher nur die Schallplatte).

Hey, thank you for this interview. A lot has happened since the last interview here for Sleaze-Metal.com. Where you would like to start?
Dani: Hey man! Well, we have been busy playing concerts, writing songs and recording our second album “Doin’ You Nasty”.
The new Album “Doin you Nasty” is ready to go. A real good Album, but a bit different then the first one. Tell me about difference from your Point of view.
Dani: First of all I think that the biggest difference is the sound and production, sure there are a few “harder” songs on this album but it’s still kick ass Babylon-rock! We wanted to get a bit more power in the sound on this CD and I think we got a good result.
I think “doin you Nasty” is not so kick-your-Face like “Boozed”, it is more Relaxed Rock like good ol Aerosmith and stuff like that. Would you agree with that?
Dani: Yeah I think so, I haven’t really been listening to Boozed but I hear they are good band. Aerosmith is a REALLY good band and a big influence for us so it sounds like you’re right on the money!
I like the artwork of the new Album. Something to tell about it?
Dani: It’s our good friend Martin from Padrino.se who has done it, and yeah, it rocks! I think it has a nice “simple” touch to it. Red, white and black goes great together.
Your favorite Songs on the new Album are? For example I really Like “Slip Away”, “Hometown Hero”, “Drop the Bomb” and “white Thrash Beauty”.
Dani: I love them all but “Hometown Hero”, “Slip Away” and “Moonshine Beat” are my favorites at the moment.
You got Mia Coldheart from Crucified Barbara on the first Single “Louder”. How you get in touch with her?
Dani: We’re good friends with her and the Barbaras so it was a natural thing to ask her when we wanted a guest vocalist on the album. She came down to the studio and we had a blast recording the songs, she’s also singing backup on the song “Proud”.
Is that worthy to release a Single for you? Is there some Bonus for the Fans on it? (I mean Live songs or some unreleased stuff??
Dani: If you want to get some airtime on radio you have to release a single so that’s the main thing why you release a single. Of course we have put a little candy on it for the fans, an outtake from “Cracked Wide Open And Bruised” album.
You got some great press for the debut (very remarkable the Bonus-Bomb in Germanys Rock hard-Mag), is that important for ya what the Press writes about your Album? Did you ever been mad about some bad reviews or something?
Dani: Every time you read a good review you get a nice feeling inside but then again you have to remember that a review is just one persons thoughts about the album. So the answer would be; it’s great to get good reviews but I would never kill myself over a bad one!
You will play some gigs over Europe soon, why just a few in Germany?
Dani: This is just a mini-promo tour with bands that are our friends and we’ll also do some interviews. We’ll try to fix a bigger European tour late this fall, keep your fingers crossed!
I have seen you last year in Münster with The Spacebrains, and I thought that this was not the best gig from Babylon Bombs. Excuse me, but I missed some enthusiasm from your side. To be honest I was a bit disappointed from this gig.
Dani: Ok, sorry ‘bout that.
Any Reactions from Overseas or some chances to play there?
Dani: We have signed a five CD contract with Victor/JVC (Hardcore Superstar, Europe etc.) in Japan so hopefully we’ll get over there and do some promotion and gigs. We have gotten great response from the US but as for now no plans of going there.

Dani, you have played in the past with the band Morgana LeFay. What was the reason you left the band and started to play Sleaze-Rock?
Dani: The reason I left the band was because I moved from the town where Morgana were located. The reason why I play Sleaze rock is the simple fact that I grew up with that music and have listen to it since. I also like bands like Queensryche and stuff, it’s good to be open-minded when it comes to music.
Are interested into up-to-date-Music?
Dani: To be honest I don’t really know what up-to-date music would be, if it’s NU-Metal and Slipknot-knida’ music then no.
I have heard about a Glam-Fest in Sweden with lot of cool bands playing (Zan Clan, Tigertailz, Loudn Nasty), was no chance for Babylon Bombs to jump on the Billing?
Dani: That gig was arranged by a Swedish booking agency so I guess they only wanted “their” bands on the bill, I was in the crowd thou.
Some offers for you to play some Festivals this year?
Dani: Yeah, but no confirmed once yet.
I would like to know, what records you have bought in the last months?
Dani: L.A Guns – Tales from the strip, Hardcore Superstar – s/t, Mötley Crue – Theatre of pain (I just had the LP)
